What Does PCast Do?
PCast will download images (and other files types) from newsgroups. Internet newsgroups have over 50,000 groups, many are just for images.

Will it mess up my PC?
No you can relax. PCast contains no spy ware and we don't make any modifications to your system.

Does PCast work with Guest Mode on Windows XP?
PCast works on all versions of Windows. It does not require any special permissions to run. It can run from any account.

I keep getting some sort of Host errors?

What is my News Server?

How can I see thumbnails of all of my pictures?
This feature is included in PCast 5.0

What Is Smart Download?
PCast uses Smart Download to avoid downloading the same picture twice. When you change news servers or have not used PCast for a while choose Reset Smart Download. Smart Download is controlled from the options screen.

I keep getting weird errors?
Make sure you do not have the Happy99 worm, or another virus. Click here to see Happy99 is. Click Here to remove it.

I'm with MSN. What news server do I use?
PCast will not work with MSN News Servers. You will need another news server. For a list of free news servers click here.

I'm with AOL. What news server do I use?
PCast will not work with AOL News Servers. You will need another news server. For a list of free news servers click here.

I Keep Getting Error 403. Bad Article?
This problem has been fixed, you need PCast 4.0 or better. 

How Can I Quickly Get To The First Or Last Picture?
Hold down shift while clicking the back and forward buttons to go to the first and last pictures.

Can I Manually Edit The Group List?
Yes. Just open MyNewsServer.DAT with notepad (or any text editor) and add any groups you like. Note: MyNewsServer is the name of your news server. Please note the .DAT will not be created until you hit the 'Get Groups' button on the setup screen.

Why Do My Colors Look Terrible?
PCast only works when Windows is running with more than 256 colors. 

My News Server Requires Me To Login. What Can I Do?
Enter your login details on the options screen.

I Emailed support and nobody ever got back to me. Why?
We regularly get email and reply to it only to have it bounce back to us. If support did not get back to you then please try again but double check your return email address.

It Still Doesn't Work! My Problem Is Not Listed Here.
The problem you are experiencing may have already been fixed. Try downloading the program again or looking at our support page.
